The Anti-Measles Virus IgG ELISA from ORGENTEC Diagnostika is a quantitative test system for the detection of IgG antibodies against measles virus in human serum and plasma.
Measles virus IgG antibodies are detectable throughout the life of the patient; once infected a patient generally develops life-long immunity. The Anti-Measles Virus IgG ELISA is used to determine the immune status of the patient. IgM antibodies against the measles virus can be detected about two weeks after the primary infection for about four to six weeks; these antibodies can be measured using the Anti-Measles IgM ELISA from ORGENTEC.
By using the WHO NIBSC 97/648 standard for calibration, the ORGENTEC Anti-Measles Virus IgG allows for the determination of antibody activity in international units (IU/l). This allows for comparison of results from one laboratory to another and allows the immune status of the patient to be determined.
